The Real People of the Gilded Age

The Gilded Age is not only a time in U.S. History it is also the name of a series written by Julian Fellowes.  Mr. Fellowes also wrote Downton Abbey.  The Gilded Age, is a beautiful show focusing on the wealthy few of New York  during the 1880s.  The Gilded Age is an interesting time in history as change is happening much quicker than it had in the past with the birth of many new inventions and industires. The show is centred around two characters, Mrs. Bertha Russell and Mrs. Caroline Schermerhorn Astor.  But I have been much more interested in some of the other characters as they have either been inspried by actual people or are playing actual period of the time.  Want to meet some of the richest people of the time?  Click on this link!
