Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a hard worker for racial equality, working classes, and the oppressed around the world. On the third Monday of January, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, or MLK Day, is a federal holiday to honor his life and legacy. What some people may not know is that MLK Day is also an official day of service. Many people celebrate Martin Luther King Day by building Community through working together and service to others. Let's honor Dr. King's legacy by working toward a more just and equitable society, where everyone is valued and respected, regardless of their race, ability, religion, or background. By participating in service projects, we can bridge divides, heal wounds, and create lasting change that will benefit our communities for years to come.Â
