Chester Arthur's Short Presidency

Chester Arthur was president of the United States from 1881-1885.  I would bet you have never heard of him.  One reason for that is he only served one term as President. This article explains one possible reason Mr. Arthur only served one term.  He was fighting a terminal illness.  Being president is an extremely difficult job but to also be fighting for one's life must have made the job nearly impossible.  To make matters worse?  There was no Vice President!  That's because Arthur was the Vice-President but became the President after James Garfield’s assassination.  Talk about pressure.  So how did he deal with it all?  That's for you to read, here!
